New Partner at Nash (August 2009) The Partners at Nash & Co are delighted to announce that Karen Bussell has been appointed a Partner. She heads up the highly regarded Employment Department, well known in the area for its enviable success record. Since joining Nash & Co in 2002, Karen has built a substantial client base consisting principally of employers, but she also acts for employees in Employment Tribunal claims and advises on all employment law matters and workplace issues. Having previously worked as a commercial diver and as a journalist, Karen brings a practical note to employer-employee issues which has been recognised by Plymouth University where she has taught employment law on the MA in Business Studies course for the past three years and she now also teaches on the Legal Practice Course. She is enormously experienced in dealing with and settling employment disputes in the workplace or at the Employment Tribunal (or at any stage between the two), advising on disciplinary matters, redundancies, and general day-to-day issues such as performance concerns and maternity arrangements as well as drafting agreements, contracts and staff policies. Senior Partner, Guy Walker, comments… “Karen has earned a superb reputation for her specialist employment law skills and a following of loyal clients. Work is regularly referred to her by other law firms and barristers and she always delivers a great service to our clients who know that she will “go the extra mile” for them. Employment law is one of the cornerstones of our Commercial Department and I am delighted that Karen accepted our invitation to become a Partner.”
