Karen Bussell
Partner

Arriving in Devon in 1982 to work as a commercial diver, Karen took up law after a varied career which included management, lecturing and journalism. She joined Nash in February 2002 and has a client base of both employers and employees. She is experienced in dealing with and settling employment disputes, advising on procedures and disciplinary matters as well as drafting agreements, contracts and staff policies.

Ian Walker
Associate

Ian joined Nash & Co in 2008 having spent nearly 10 years working in Exeter. He has specialized in Family since he qualified as a solicitor in 1992. Ian has been a member of the SRA Children Panel since 1996, and trained as a Mediator in the same year. He has since gained accreditation with Resolution both as a Mediator and as a Specialist Family Solicitor. He was also one of the first Solicitors to train as a Collaborative Family Lawyer in Devon in 2005. He is currently Treasurer of the Devon branch of Resolution and was previously a member of the Law Society’s national Family Law Committee. Ian is married with four children and is a keen runner.
   
 
Jonathan Madge
Associate

Jonathan joined the Family Team in April 2000. He specializes in divorce law, assisting clients in dealing with the financial consequences of divorce in relation to their property, pensions and income. He also helps clients with disputes relating to their children.
   
 
Helen Wheeler
Legal Executive

Helen qualified in 1999 and has experience in all aspects of Family Law. Helen particularly specialises in Children and Domestic Violence related matters. In addition, Helen is an accredited Resolution Specialist in domestic abuse and private children law . Helen is available to provide advice to people who are facing difficulties arising from a breakdown in their relationship.
   
 
Lisa Stanzl
Legal Executive

Lisa's legal career spans over 20 years working in many areas and at many levels. In 2000 Lisa completed her legal Executive Membership Examinations specialising in Family Law. She joined Nash & Co in 2004 and now works within the Family Team dealing with legally aided cases . Lisa qualified as a Legal Executive on 4 March 2010.
   
 
William Giles
Partner

William is the Partner in charge of the Family Team. He has been with the firm since May 1997, having qualified in December 1994. William has been a specialist family law solicitor since he qualified. He is a member of the Law Society's Children Panel and Family Law Panel (advanced tier) which recognises his experience in dealing with divorcing couples and the related financial and children issues.

Gemma Croucher
Trainee Legal Executive

Gemma joined Nash in 2002 as a secretary. She is now a Trainee Legal Executive and assists and advises legal aid clients in all aspects of divorce and child law cases. She is specialising in the financial aspects of relationship breakdown.

Martine Jones
Legal Assistant

Martine, a Legal Assistant in The Accident Department joined Nash & Co in 2002. She is very experienced in all aspects of PI especially RTA's. Martine is supervised by Marie Bailey.
   
 
Michael Shiers
Partner

Michael joined the firm in 1993 and was made a Partner in 1996. He heads the Claimant Litigation department, dealing primarily with personal injury cases but he also undertakes general common law matters. He has been a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Specialist Panel since 1996 and is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers

Marie Bailey
Trainee Legal Executive

Marie's legal career spans over 19 years, working in many areas at many levels. Marie is currently studying ILEX and joined Nash & Co in 1999. She manages the Accident Department which deals with high volume personal injury claims and is supervised by John Wyatt.

Lesley Middleton
Associate

Lesley joined the firm in 1998 and was promoted to Associate in 2004 after Nash merged with another local firm. She has more than 25 years experience in private property work having specialized in domestic conveyancing, dealing with both freehold and leasehold properties.
   
 
Jeremy Woodward
Consultant

Jeremy joined the firm in 1977 and was made a partner in 1981. He specialises in property work, in particular landlord and tenant matters and agricultural.

Angela Harris
Legal Assistant

Angela, a Legal Assistant in the Residential Conveyancing department joined Nash & Co in 1970 as a legal secretary. She is very experienced in all matters relating to conveyancing and also assists with the sale of properties for the Probate department.

Melanie qualified as a Legal Executive in May 2006. She has been with Nash & Co's residential conveyancing team since she joined the firm in 1998.

Partner

Tracey joined the firm in 1999 and moved to the Wills and Probate department in July 2002. She now specializes in wills, estate administration, lifetime tax planning, inheritance tax mitigation, enduring powers of attorney and issues of funding of long-term care and asset protection.

Bridget is a native of Plymouth and returned to Devon to join the Family Team at Nash in August 2004. She qualified in 2001 and now works in the Wills, Trusts and Probate department dealing with a variety of Personal Client matters including wills and estate administration.
   
 
Hilary Cragg
Solicitor

Hilary came to the law after careers in retail, training and banking. She joined Nash & Co in 2008 as a trainee solicitor and qualified on 1 March 2010. Hilary's particular interest and experience is in dealing with matters concerning elderly clients especially in relation to Continuing Care.
   
 
Laura Gilbert
Solicitor

Laura qualified as a solicitor in September 2008 and joined Nash & Co in May 2009. Laura specialises in wills, probate and elderly client work with a particular interest in continuing care matters.
