What our clients are saying:

"First class - as always."

Structure & Facilities

Nash & Co is located in the heart of Plymouth occupying Beaumont House, an elegant, Georgian mansion in a parkland setting. It has been modernized and refurbished throughout to the very highest standards. There is ample parking for clients and easy access and facilities for our disabled clients. (For more information about Beaumont House - see History of Beaumont House).

The firm, which became a Limited Liability Partnership in May 2007, has enjoyed steady growth for the past few years and has continually invested in both its infrastructure and its employees. This has enabled the firm to maintain the special "culture" for which Nash & Co is so well known. It is rare for companies that experience signficant growth in a fairly short time to manage to maintain a unity of purpose of both its employees and its management team - but Nash & Co has managed to involve the whole team in its vision and enjoys a high level of employee loyalty with a large number of staff having worked for Nash & Co for well over 10 years and several for more than 20.

In addition to the seven partners of the firm - Guy Walker (Senior Partner); John Wyatt (Managing Partner); Jeremy Woodward; Michael Shiers; Will Giles, Tracey Wright and Austin Blackburn - there is a Practice Chief Executive, Nicola Shelmerdine, who manages the day to day running of the business. Her team includes an experienced IT department which has drawn on the latest advances in technology to improve services to clients as well as cost savings to the firm. Also a marketing department that assists with the firm's development and growth in a competitive market place.

At operational level, the firm is divided into two business units - the Personal Team and the Business Team incorporating various specialists. Personal Team - Wills, Trusts & Probate, Elderly Client, Tax Planning, Residential Conveyancing, Family and Personal Injury. Business Team - Company & Commercial, Employment, Dispute Resolution & Civil Litigation, Commercial Property, Specialist Marine & Aviation and Licensing. Each individual team is managed by a specialist who is responsible for ensuring they work to the highest standards at all times.

Commited to Excellence:

The legal profession has undergone radical changes in recent years. Solicitors now have to accept the fact that they are in the business “marketplace” along with other professional service providers. Clients look not only for quality of the service provided but also at the way it is delivered. This means, as in most other service businesses, the employees become one of the firm’s largest assets in which it is well worth investing.

Nash & Co received its "Investors in People" award in January 1996. In working towards the award the firm realised the importance of training and developing the staff, from the top of the business with our senior partner, down to the most junior members of staff. Obtaining the award was not an end but just the beginning of the process of commitment to all members of staff – to help them achieve the best for themselves as individuals. This in turn will help us achieve the best for the practice in terms of increased profitability and growth in future years.

The firm continued its commitment to the very highest standards of practise and was awarded the coveted Law Society’s Lexel Practice Management quality mark in 2001. This award gives some indication to new and established clients of the high standards of service they can expect when they instruct Nash & Co to assist with their affairs.
