Nash & Co has a dedicated Elderly Client team who specialises in the many and various issues that can affect people in later life. Our team keeps abreast of the changes in government policy including those relating to NHS long term care of the elderly. They have been working hard to ensure that the many residents of Care Homes, who may be unnecessarily paying for their accommodation fees, are given advice to see that their Primary Care Trust takes responsibility when appropriate.
The team works daily with elderly clients and their care workers and make sure that residents of Care Homes and their families are made of aware of changes that are taking place and how these may affect them.
Our team is happy to visit clients in their own homes or in their Care Homes and to meet with their families as appropriate, to discuss any issues relating to their lives. This could be the preparation of an Enduring Power of Attorney where someone is perhaps too physically frail to undertake some of the day to day things such as paying bills or claiming benefits or perhaps a referral to the Court of Protection where an elderly person may need someone to represent their interests when they are no longer capable of doing this themselves.
