Elmer’s Big Parade PlymouthJul 15, 2019
Elmer’s Big Parade is underway here in Plymouth, and Nash & Co Solicitors is playing a major role in the activities! Over 10 weeks this summer, a parade of 40 colourful, unique elephants will take people on a trail around Plymouth. The tour takes you from the city streets to the peace and splendour of Beaumont Park and our office.
Partners of the Trail
St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth is delivering Elmer’s Big Parade in partnership with Wild in Art and Andersen Press. It features the much-loved children’s character of Elmer, by Devon-born artist and author David McKee.
Each sculpture will feature a unique design created by some of our amazing local and national artists, both well-known and emerging.
We are taking good care of an Elmer this summer, but not just any Elmer. Oh no, we have the original Elmer, as you can see below!
In the last week every pupil from Holy Cross Primary School has visited us to meet Elmer! A lot of them have read the Elmer books and learnt lots about him. They’ve had their photos taken with him, given him a hug most have promised to see him again and complete Elmer’s Big Parade this summer.
Map and App
Have you been to see him? If not, you’re very welcome! We even have a dedicated parking spot, just for you, in our car park! It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, you’re welcome to come say hello. If you’d like a map of where the other Elmers are, you can get it here: DOWNLOAD MAP
What happens after the trail is finished?
At summer’s end, Elmer’s Big Parade will come to an end. Each of the beautifully designed Elmers will be gathered in and auctioned to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice. This will enable the Hospice to continue to provide outstanding compassionate care.
