Ian joined Nash & Co as a Partner in January 2014. His areas of work include commercial litigation, complex shareholder and partnership disputes, health and safety, as well as a wide range of professional negligence work.
His expertise includes statutory nuisance proceedings, trading standards, transport and environmental issues. This includes advising on formal investigations and prosecutions, advising on appeals against Notices, and dealing with Judicial Review proceedings. Ian also appears as an advocate before the criminal Courts and employment tribunals on health and safety matters.
Ian qualified with Bond Dickinson and spent a number of years with their nationally regarded Health & Safety team before joining a Plymouth based firm in 2009. He has advised on some high profile cases including R v Costain and Kvaerner Limited – prosecution arising from the collapse of the gantry on the M5 Avonmouth Bridge resulting in multiple deaths R v Corus UK Limited – prosecution arising from the explosion at Port Talbot Steel Works November 2001 involving multiple deaths and injuries.
