Nikki Kelly

Employment

Nikki graduated in 2019 from Swansea University with a degree in Law and Criminology.

Looking to enhance her understanding beyond black letter law, she volunteered with South Wales Police and spent a month with the Western Command’s CID, Child Sexual Exploitation, Vulnerable Adult and Missing Persons units.

Nikki has also had the opportunity to work on a Miscarriage of Justice case. All appeals had been exhausted but there were concerns that the Client (convicted of murder) was innocent. A large proportion of her contribution involved finding fresh evidence and/or new legal arguments to establish whether there were grounds to refer the case to the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

Nikki gained further experience in matters of local government law when she worked as a legal assistant at Teignbridge District Council and then joined a specialist road traffic firm on a permanent basis. As a Caseworker, she was responsible for drafting representations, taking witness statements and mitigation and briefing Counsel and Clients for Court.

Seeking a new challenge, Nikki joined Nash & Co Solicitors in September 2019.
