What We Do Wednesday: Media LawSep 12, 2018
Happy Wednesday! It’s once again time for our#WhatWeDoWednesday feature. This weekly, two-part feature opens the Nash doors and offers an insight into what each of our teams do. The second half of the feature always takes place on the following Friday, encouraging a warm introduction to some of the team members. This week we are introducing our Media Law team.
The Media Law team is run by Duncan White an Associate Solicitor in the Corporate Team. He joined Nash & Co in 2017 and is involved in all aspects of Corporate and Corporate Finance work.
Prior to joining Nash & Co, Duncan spent 5 years as in-house counsel at the media production company Twofour Group and was part of the company’s worldwide expansion. He has a particular interest in television and digital media production and has unparalleled experience in the South West of advising on the development, financing, production and exploitation of cross platform content. Duncan is regularly instructed by production companies to advise on compliance (Ofcom and ASA), business affairs, defamation, breach of confidence, contempt, copyright, trademark, passing off and data protection matters.
Duncan has recently acted for the producers of the multi award winning Hospital series on the BBC, as well as The Job Interview (Channel 4), The Charlotte Show (MTV), The Real Marigold Hotel (BBC), Ibiza Weekender (ITV2), The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) and the BAFTA award-winning Educating… (Channel 4). He was also recently instructed to assist a Los Angeles based television production company filming in the UK.
In addition to television, Duncan provides legal support to a number of digital media production companies on a wide variety of commercial matters, and regularly accepts instructions on the protection and management of intellectual property.
